Randall Gair Doherty was born on 2 May 1937 in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, England. He was born to Aleister Crowley and Patricia Doherty, a native of Newlyn. He had four siblings, but only the names of two are available and they are Nuit Ma Ahathoor Hecate Sappho Jezebel Lilith Crowley and Lola Zaza Crowley. He had two stepmothers, Maria Teresa Sanchez and Rose Edith Kelly.

Education

Randall Gair Doherty had attended a private school while growing up in Cornwall. However, the exact details of the institutions he attended are not available. On the other hand, his father attended Malvern College and Tonbridge School. He then enrolled at Trinity College, Cambridge. He developed interests in poetry, chess, and mountain climbing. He used several pseudonyms and titles, including Aleister Macalpine and Count Charles Edward D’Arquires, throughout his life. His father used to call him Aleister Ataturk. His father is the founder of the religion Thelema, identifying himself as the prophet entrusted with guiding humanity into the AEon of Horus in the early 20th century. Aleister, being born into a wealthy family in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, rejected his parents’ fundamentalist Christian Plymouth Brethren faith to follow Western esotericism. According to some biographers, Randall’s father was recruited into a British intelligence agency and they also suggest that he remained a spy throughout his life. Aleister also studied Hindu and Buddhist practices in India. He wrote the sacred text of Thelema The Book of the Law.

Death Events

In 2002, Randall Gair Doherty lost his life in a car accident in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire, aged 65. His father died on December 1, 1947, in Hastings, United Kingdom, when Randall was just 10 years old. He became fatherless at an early age. He was brought up by Patricia as a single mother.
