Born in 1949 into a theatrical family, Bridges almost grew up on the set. His father, Lloyd Bridges, is an actor and his mother, Dorothy Bridges, is an actress and writer. A child actor in a performance world, Jeff started acting at the age of six on his father’s television series. He acted in productions with his father throughout his childhood and adolescence.
Although he was exposed to acting early on, Bridges was not sold on the career idea. He attended the Herbert Berghof Studio in New York briefly after high school but wanted to try other things.
