Albert Francis Capone was married to Diana Ruth Casey Capone, and they tied the knot in 1941. However, details about their marriage and dating life are not publicly available as Albert was more interested in keeping a private life.

Albert and his wife have one known child, Veronica Frances Capone. She was born in 1943 and died in 2007.

Why Drop His Father’s Name?

Growing up, Albert was weighed down by his father’s name. His infamous activities negatively affected Albert, and he opted to seek a change of name to drop his father’s. Although his efforts fell short at first, his lawyer got room to convince the courts to allow Albert to change the name following a case where Albert had been prosecuted for misconduct. Albert officially managed to drop “Capone” from his name and went by the name Albert Francis Sonny. However, after his death, that’s when people close to him discovered that he was the son of the infamous criminal Al Capone.

Albert had managed to take a different career path and moral standards than those of his father. He was a testimony that your family doesn’t dictate your future, and his law-abiding life had proved that although his father was a criminal, his habits had not spread to the son as Albert lived a peaceful and private life till his death on July 8, 2004. Albert died in California, and by this time, he was married to America “Amie” Francis.

Al Capone was Albert’s father. He was born on January 17, 1899, in Brooklyn, New York. His birth name is Alphonse Gabriel Capone, and he went by different nicknames, including King Alphonse, The Big Fella, Scarface, etc.

Albert’s father was infamous for being one of the hardened Chicago gangsters of his time. He engaged in different criminal activities and was jailed for five years before being released due to his health condition. He was suffering from syphilis, which led to his death on January 25, 1947.
